Radio

I am currently working at Kanali7 radio station where I get to host my own music shows and deal with the station’s music department. The radio station started in 1994 as a local station in the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia. In 2000 they applied for a national license and was finally approved after 12 years of perseverance and struggles so in 2013 the station has been able to broadcast nation wise.

The radio station is registered as a commercial station and deals with national and worldwide news, social and political topics along with playing music in between all the different programs that it offers. One of its main aims is to bring hope into people’s lives with programs that challenge listeners to seek for the truth and their purpose in this life. The programs cover the needs of different age groups and touch diverse aspects of life. The music that is being played falls under the Christian category but drawn from a lot of different genres.

As I mentioned earlier, my focus is the music department. I host a daily show where I choose the music and speak about the songs and how the lyrics relate to our lives in general. The challenging thing about working at a radio station is that you never really know who could be listening and how something you say could affect someone else’s life. That is though where I trust God with where He placed me and I seek for His wisdom and guidance in all I say and do. I pray that God would give me the right words so that He will touch the lives of people who are sincerely looking for Him and are searching for answers in this life.
