My Story

Growing up I heard and knew about God since I had the privilege of being raised in a Christian home where Christ was always at the center. I know some of you may find this hard to believe, but I actually remember the day when I gave my heart to Christ; I was 3 years old. It really is amazing to think that something that had begun as such an innocent and sincere prayer of a 3 year-old, could turn out to be the most fundamental thing in my life.

The older I got, the more my relationship with God grew and deepened and it has become very much of who I am today. I guess to me, knowing God was never a set of rules I just HAD to follow, but it was a relationship of love and understanding and as real and important as yours and my next breath. God had character and I was eager to find out more about Him and His will for my life; I still am eager.

As a teenager I learned to trust God more and surrender my life, piece by piece. Through teenage hardships and through life in general, God had been preparing me for much bigger things than I could ever imagine. He had been trusting me first with the little things and sharpening my character so that I could be one step closer to the woman He intends me to be.

When I was 18 years old, I remember praying and asking God to use my life in any way He wanted to, as long as He would be glorified through it. One week later I found out I had cancer (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma). Of course, not the greatest news to hear, but right from the beginning I realized that this was indeed an answer to my prayer. God showed me from the start that He was going to use this specific experience to bring glory to Himself –and that’s what He did. There were some difficult moments, and the chemotherapy was a horrible experience to go through. But amidst all of that, I knew that God was beside me every single moment, holding my hand and giving me more strength than I ever thought I had. I have been cancer free for a few years now and it is amazing to see how God is still allowing me to use this experience to bless others.

After my experience with cancer, I enrolled into the Greek Bible College in Athens, Greece, (here is their website if you want to know more: http://www.grbc.gr/) where I graduated from a three-year program. It helped me grow in many ways and it gave me a better understanding of the Bible and how to interpret it. All through college I prayed and asked God to show me what to do with my life next and where and how He wanted me to serve Him. During my last semester, I felt like I had my answer. He was calling me to serve Him back in Cyprus. The place where I grew up!

Today

So here I am today serving Him as best as I can on this beautiful island. My main priority in ministry is the radio station Kanali7 where I host my own music shows and get to pick Christian music that I like, and to share God’s truth by explaining the lyrics or the artists’ heart and message of the song.  I am also actively involved in my local church through the worship team, and also by hosting Bible studies at my house for the young adults, and helping out with the teen youth group. During the summer season I also get to help out with the summer camps and I always enjoy those very much, usually characterizing them as the highlight of my summer.

You want to help out?
