From LA to Kansas!

After the Californian sun and the busyness of LA I made my way to Kansas. I flew over so I didn’t get the chance to see a lot of the scenery. Once I got there it was really dark, but in the morning I admired the beauty that I faced around me. Nature will never cease to amaze me and so far I have been taking it all in and trying to remember everything I see around me. (Pictures help a lot though too.)

It was a really exhausting trip because I also had a layover in Denver, Colorado, but once I arrived in Kansas City, Ron & Kathy Stegall where there waiting for me and they drove me to their cute house which is located just outside Lawrence city. I got the chance to rest and regain my strength since the next day I was going to attend a RP Youth Retreat in Lawrence.

At first I didn’t know anyone at the retreat and so I was being introduced to lots of different people and was trying to explain to everyone I met how to pronounce my name properly in Greek, but in the end most people got it right and I made some new friends. Overall it was really nice being able to share with some younger people all about the ministry work in Cyprus and some of my personal testimony. They seemed to be interested in what God is doing there and they also said they would be praying for me and Cyprus in general so I was really encouraged.

I have to say though that I think the highlight of the retreat for me was having smores by the campfire and singing ridiculous camp songs, a lot of which I never came across before in my life. I think there is just a natural joy that comes with just being able to enjoy the moment and share memories with people who can also enjoy life.

The retreat ended on Easter Sunday where we attended a RP church in Lawrence and had lunch altogether. After that I went back to the Stegalls’ house where I rested for a couple of hours and then headed off to Nebraska.

So here I am writing this post from Nebraska but I will let you in more on that later.

Thanks for praying for me and thinking of me. I am attaching more pictures from my adventures so far!

God bless you,
Anastasia
